Do you find yourself still looking after the latest big thing to generate more traffic to your blog?

If you’ve tried everything and seems nothing works, here is what you need to do.

Try pinging. If you’re thinking that’s old, think again. You’re probably not doing this the right way.

If you don’t know by now, pinging means when you notify blog & RSS directories each and every time you post a new blog article. This is done automatically by WordPress.

But are you taking full advantage of pinging?

Do you know there are more blog/RSS directories than you’re probably using now as we speak?

Do you know there is a right and a wrong way to do all this? (Hint - you have to avoid excessive pinging, or your blog could get banned from these services - so try this no-cost plugin!)

Do you know that each and every time you’re publishing a new blog post, it attracts these spiders and notify Google and Technorati (plus other sites) to visit your BLOG?

That means each and every time you publish new stuff on your blog, you have yet another chance to get more traffic.

The more often you publish, the higher your traffic.

The right way to ping is to use blog/RSS directories which are actually working, as 80% of them are dead already.

Here’s a list with the ones I’m currently using. Just cut & paste them in your WordPress Writing - SETTINGS.

You click on the “Writing” option and scroll till the bottom of that page - update your list with these links:

Afterwards click on “SAVE Changes” and you’re almost done.

You’d want to update the list with new links and remove those who are not working from time to time.

The links above are the ones which I’m currently using. I had up to 60 blog/rss ping links, but removed most of them as they were not working (I know how to do that because I’m using this ping optimizer plugin)

If you want to take full advantage of pinging and get even more traffic you’d have to use WP to the maximum.
